Open To Unconditional Love And Compasion With 4Th Chakra Malas
This is the fourth of a series that will inform you about the benefits of wearing your mala and saying your mantra for each of the seven chakras.
With the recent increased awareness of the many healing benefits of gemstones, mantras and malas, why not adorn yourself with jewelry that is both sacred and beautiful.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means wheel and refers to a system of seven basic energy centers that carry energy, or prana, throughout the body. Open and balanced chakras lead to optimal health, vitality and consciousness.
The fourth chakra is the heart chakra, located in the mid-sternum and is the middle, or center point of the seven chakras. The element is air and it serves the function of learning to love ourselves and others unconditionally as we open to compassion and universal love. It is also the integrator of opposites. It is oriented to self-acceptance and social identity.
If out of balance, we may feel unworthy of love, punish ourselves or be possessive in our relationships. When functioning, we live in a world that reflects love, beauty and harmony. A healthy fourth chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, and have a deep sense of peace and centeredness.
This chakra is linked to the color green and is ruled by the planet Venus. It responds to the openness and acceptance known as bodhicitta or “complete openness of mind.”
The possible physiological benefits for a balanced fourth chakra are healthy respiration and circulation, including heart, lungs and breasts. The gland is the thymus.
Gemstones: Rose quartz gives a gentle soothing energy that helps to heal emotional wounds, helps in developing self-love and helps open to unconditional love.
Malachite encourages compassion and aligns us with the will of the divine. It helps us to operate out of love and integrity.
Gold is a great conductor of energy and can help repair damage at a cellular level.
Mantra: “I breathe into the depth of my own loving heart as I open to the beauty, harmony and compassion that is reflected around me. I am grateful.” To see this beautiful mala, go to .
We invite you to wear your mala and recite your mantra for 21 days for full transformation and alignment to occur.
Each of our malas come with its own life-affirming mantra (“prayer”, in Sanskrit) and represents a convergence of ancient spiritual tradition and modern beauty: The simplicity of gemstones is known to have healing qualities and, when worn around the wrist, is a constant reminder of the sacred within each of us. Celedra
Celedra Gildea, a psychotherapist by profession, began designing malas, or prayer beads, in 1995 in order to support her spiritual practice in Tibetan Buddhism. In 2007 she went to Tibet to start a non-profit cottage industry for the Nangchen, training local Tibetan women in the making of malas. Then, she and her team took a harrowing car ride up the treacherous roads to the nunnery, where the malas were placed on the alter to receive the prayers and blessings of the nuns. Today, she is devoted to providing objects of art for you and your home with malas, jewelry and home décor that help create the sacred in everyday life.
